| Borrowing |
NYMC users have the privilege of borrowing journals, books and media equipment.
Journals may be borrowed for 3 days and cannot be renewed.
- New Journals cannot be checked out during their first week in the library.
- Journals dated 1994 and older must be requested at the library’s
Access Services Desk or through the ILLiad system.
Circulation of journals is subject to current policies or restrictions. |

Books may be borrowed for 28 days except for Reserve and Reference Items. |
|
Reserve Items are to be borrowed for two hours, one day or three days.
Two hour reserve items cannot leave the library. |

Reference Items are for on site reference use only and may not be checked out.
Books and Journals that are not owned by NYMC may be obtained from other institutions through ILLiad, the interlibrary loan system. |
|
Overdue Fines and Fees are assumed as part of library privileges and vary according to the category of materials borrowed. |

Renewing |
|
A book may be renewed once for an additional 28 days if the book is not yet overdue and if another patron has not put in a hold request for the book. Journals and Reserve Items may not be renewed. |
There are 3 ways to renew books.
Before the Due Date:
- Bring the book in to the library’s Access Services Desk
- Call 4200 and ask to be renewed over the phone
- Renew online by going to the library’s home page and selecting:
