User Support and Education

The primary function of the User Support, Education & Research Services (USERS) staff in the library is to assist members of the NYMC with their research through education, consultation, and provision of help materials to assist users in navigating the resources of the Health Sciences Library. It is our job to work with you to make sure the library is meeting your needs and that you can adequately use it.

How do I...? : Library tipsheets are available on a number of topics, designed to help you navigate our resources.

Library Classes : The library offers free classes to the entire NYMC community. Select this link to see a calendar of classes, read class descriptions and to register online (library barcode is required to register).

Consultations : Librarians are available for one-on-one or small group consultation related to your research or projects. Select this link to schedule a consultation or call 914-594-3168.

Ask a Librarian : Follow this link to access our online reference service. All questions are answered within in two departmental business hours.

Reference Desk Assistance : A librarian is available to assist you Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM - 6 PM (until 9:00 PM on Wednesdays) and 8:30 AM - 5 PM on Fridays.

Other Web Resources – this web page provides various subject guides, each guide listing and describing available resources.

Faculty and departmental administrators can request special instructional sessions, orientations or tours for their classes, by calling your Library Liaison.

In addition, search services are available for NYMC faculty, employees, residents and fellows. The first hour for any search is free!
