POSTER
PRINTER POLICY |
Appointments:
- The Health Sciences Library poster printing service is available for New York Medical College Library users, by appointment, Monday-Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and 10:00am to 04:00pm on Sundays subject to staff availability. Call (914)594 4200 for an appointment.
- The Library may not be able to accommodate all requests for poster
printing due to time and staffing limits. Patrons may need to use outside
vendors due to scheduling limitations.
- Each appointment is for the printing of one poster only. If you have
two posters to print, you need two appointments.
- Appointments at times other than stated above, may be arranged subject
to staff availability.
- Walk-in/same-day printing requests are considered RUSH*
and may be possible, subject to staff availability, at double the fee.
- A late appearance of more than 15 minutes will be considered a voluntary
cancellation of the appointment and another one will need to be scheduled.
- Patrons are asked to stay until printing is progressing smoothly.

Planning
Your Poster:
- Patrons should plan their posters carefully, being especially mindful
of software limitations. PowerPoint is the preferred format for posters, although other formats may be accommodated.
- Posters should be saved to a PC formatted CD or USB memory
stick. We do not retrieve files from emails.
- Consult Library web page for details, sample templates and instructions
on creating, printing and preserving your poster.
- Staff members do not provide design help nor will any corrections
or modifications be made during your appointment. If corrections are
needed prior to printing the final version, another appointment will
be necessary.
- Some posters may be subject to fading depending on the poster printer used and the display location. The library does not provide laminating services.
- Posters directly related to NYMC curricular requirements take precedence
over any other poster jobs. The Health Sciences Library reserves the
right to refuse printer services based on content, quality, application
used, file size, staff availability or other criteria not in accordance
with this policy.
- Before your appointment time, carefully review your poster. If a
poster is printed and there is a problem that is not the fault of the
printer, such as a spelling error, the patron must still pay for the
poster. Pre-payment is required on all posters.
- Patrons are responsible for adherence to copyright laws. ‡
