- The tutorial
provided by RefWorks is a good source for learning to use this software
(also available once you access RefWorks).
- A Library
class or consult is a good way to receive instruction on RefWorks. Call
the Reference Desk (914) 594-4210 for information or to make arrangements.

| To
Access RefWorks |
- RefWorks
is located on the Library's Databases
web page, scroll down to the section titled "Other."
- On-campus
users click on the RefWorks link, set up an account and login to RefWorks.
- Off-campus
users must click on the House icon
,
logon with you Library barcode and password, and then set up
an account and login to RefWorks.

| Install
the "Write-N-Cite" Plug-in |
| "Write-N-Cite"
allows you to insert references and create a bibliography as you write your
paper, and to format these in the style that you choose. |
- Once in
RefWorks, click on "Tools" and choose "Write-N-Cite."
- Install
correct version of Write-N-Cite for your computer.
- Restart
computer.

| Off-campus
users, after installing the Write-N-Cite plug-in, must do the following: |
Go
to Start (on your computer), Programs, Refworks, Write-N-Cite Configuration
Utility, and then enter this URL: |

| Cite
While You Write |
- Launch
MS Word.
- Click
on the Tools menu. Select RefWorks Write-N-Cite, or click on the "Write-N-Cite"
icon located on the MS Word menu bar.
- On-Campus
users: login with your Refworks login name and password.
- Off-Campus
users: Log in first with your Library barcode/password, and then with
your Refworks login name and password.
- You will
now have access to your personal RefWorks databases and the utilities
necessary to insert references, create a bibliography and format these.
