Article Linker FAQ

What is Article Linker? Serials Solutions Article Linker™ is an "OpenURL link resolver," linking many of the electronic resources of the Health Sciences Library -- primarily linking bibliographic databases to full-text journal articles when available . When you find a citation or reference to a specific article in an online database, Article Linker can tell you the best available path to the full-text article via the library's electronic collections. In addition, the Article Linker results page supplies links to the library's Online Catalog (to locate print holdings) and to ILLiad interlibrary loan/document delivery service.

How do I use Article Linker?

Why isn't an Article level link always available? If there is no Article level link, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

Sometimes there are many options for full text and journal links. Why? The same journal is often available in more than one electronic resource.  Article Linker will display the links to all access points. The library has made an effort to try and put the "best" access sources at the top of the list.

How do I get to the article if there is only a journal or database link? In cases where Article Linker can only take you to the journal's table of contents or a database home page, you will have to browse the table of contents to locate the issue and article you need; or, search the database to retrieve the full-text article.

Article Linker provides an article level link even though the full-text of the article is not available. Why? This can occur for several reasons:
