Connecting to the Library's Electronic Resources from Off Campus
Caution: Use of the Library's electronic resources is limited to NYMC faculty, employees, students, residents, and fellows. Any unauthorized usage results in a violation of the Library contract. To verify users, the Library has set into place an authentication procedure.

1. Having a problem with your Library Barcode? Is it valid?
Check your Library barcode expiration status and see spelling of your last name as it appears in our system. It is possible that we have an incorrect or alternate spelling of your last name or that your barcode has expired or is otherwise invalid. Check that here.

2. Requirements to connect to the Library Databases
A computer with an Internet access and a Library Barcode -- Information on obtaining a NYMC Library Barcode

3. How to use your Library barcode and password - connect to the Library's Resources from a remote site (off the college network)
please note: student housing is "off the college network " because it is on a separate network

  a. Click the "Login" link on the upper right corner of the library's home page (http://library.nymc.edu).
  b. A page will appear asking for your Library Barcode and LastName.
  c. Enter your Library Barcode number (no spaces).
  Example of a Barcode number:
  d. Enter your last name. Note that this is case sensitive. If it doesn't work, type your barcode into the "Check your barcode expiration status" box on this page to see the last name we have on record. If we have your name spelled incorrectly please contact us at 914-594-4200 to have it fixed. In the meantime you can use the last name as it appears there.
  e. Click on "Submit."
  f. Once your Library Barcode and last name are verified, you will have access to the Library's resources as if you are on the campus network. The URLs you will see from here on it on the Address line of your browser should begin http://lproxy.nymc.edu... -- if it says something else you are no longer logged in and should try again.
