Description   
This class will provide an overview of the micro-blogging tool, Twitter. Twitter will be defined and demonstrated. Participants will have the opportunity to create an account and practice “tweeting” using demonstrated techniques. Ways in which Twitter can be effectively used will be discussed.
Objectives   
During this class participants will:
  • Define social bookmarking.
  • Register an account on Delicious and save several bookmarks to that account with tags.
  • Learn how import desktop bookmarks/favorites to Delicious.
  • Discuss potential uses for social bookmarking in the academic setting.
Goal   
To provide an overview of Twitter and its functionality and to discuss potential uses for members of the NYMC community.
